At about 12:40pm today, officers assisted in the medical emergency with Almask Air.

A police spokesperson said, “After being called by a CCTV operator, officers helped CPR and naloxone get shot by a man who was reported to be unconscious.
“When the paramedics attended the location, he regained consciousness.
“The group was gathered during the incident, some of which were reported to be aggressive and violating the Public Space Protection Order by drinking alcohol.
“When an officer seized alcohol and dealt with the crime, one woman was racially abused against one officer and was subsequently arrested for the crime.
“A 48-year-old Scarborough woman who was arrested was taken into custody while a man who needed medical assistance was taken to Scarborough Hospital.
“By the time she reached the custody sergeant's desk, the woman had been further arrested for assaulting a police officer along her way.
“Women are in our cells now.
“Naloxone is an emergency antidote used to reverse the effects of opioids. If overdose of opioids slows or stops breathing, normal breathing can quickly recover to a person.
“If you can administer naloxone within 15 minutes of an overdose, it can reverse the depressive effects of the drug and save lives.
“Naloxone is not a controlled drug, it is being carried by some North Yorkshire Police officers.”
