The supermarket is being built at the former Wilco site in Briguus, on the corner of Brigante and Commercial Street.
The plan came into view in 2023 after Wilco joined the administration that summer.
Signs of a new supermarket have been revealed. Aldi signs are now visible and a supermarket building is under construction.
It will be added to the town's Tesco, Sainsbury and Riddle supermarkets.
When the plan was approved last April, the Calderdale Council's plan report stated that the proposed development would “maintain active first floor use, and the vitality, viability and diversity of major shopping areas. “We provide a positive contribution to sexuality.”
“The proposal will maintain important retail offerings in key locations, provide supplemental parking in town centres, and supplemental parking spaces that allow you to step into existing retailers and destinations. It offers many benefits to offering.
Meanwhile, Lidl has announced plans for the site of nearby Hipperholm.
The supermarket aims to build new stores on previous industrial sites. Some of it will see developers building new homes.
Lidl said the new supermarket on the old Crosslee site on Brighouse Road in Hipperholme will create 40 new jobs.
