Lee McDonald, 42, told the store clerk “I opened your face” and “I'll… come back and do it,” Catherine Walters charged.
Eighteen days later, he returned to the same store and stole a razor blade.
McDonald has a long history of shoplifting and other crimes, and was in front of York Magistrates' court for six crimes.
Mrs. Walters said she served a suspended sentence in the same court on January 30 for shoplifting, and shoplifting was carried out again three days later.
“You're a wave of crimes in one place,” district judge Adrian Lower told him.
The judge said he was not convinced that McDonald would work with the probation service to address his issues and the reasons behind his drug use.
“The court can only give you so many opportunities. You have a poor record of this type of violation.”
He ordered McDonald to serve a suspended sentence, adding four weeks for shoplifting that he did after it was imposed.
He also ordered McDonald to pay £100 compensation to the shopper, according to the judge, “simply doing his job” for items he stole. Ta.
McDonald, in Marygate Lane, York, pleaded guilty to five thefts from the shop and one crime of using threatening language with the intent to fear violence would be used by others. I did.
