Elspeth graduated from LLB (Hons) in 2012 at King's College London. She later obtained a professional legal practice qualification at Leeds Law College and graduated in 2021 with a recognition.
In 2023, she successfully completed her legal qualification exam and was hospitalized as a lawyer in February 2024.
