Ground HR was established six weeks before the start of the pandemic by Caroline Chapman, who has worked at HR for 25 years.
Since then, the business has grown from a solo business to a team of experienced HR professionals. Over the past five years, consultants have provided invaluable support to businesses in York and North Yorkshire, and are even further apart.
The service will support businesses in recruiting and onboarding their first employees, acting as an outsourcing HR department, restructuring, disciplinary action and all other aspects of HR. Included.

Caroline says the pandemic has helped her learn in the flow of business growth and development.
She added: “As about 60% of businesses have not survived the first five years, reaching this milestone was something we felt was worth celebrating.”
Caroline established grounded HR for two main reasons. Firstly, as a mom of three, she needed more flexibility to care for a very creepy child.
Second, she felt that something was missing in HR and “wanted to bring human beings back to HR.” Ensuring respect and compassion in every situation, whether it's a fire meeting or a company restructuring, was at the heart of the grounded HR approach.
Looking ahead, Grounded HR says it is working to support micro and small businesses, evolving alongside growing clients. Recent developments include a partnership with Breathe HR, an HR software company that provides SME clients with effective solutions to manage employee information and documents.
Add Leslie to a team of experienced recruitment consultants to help businesses fill and maintain roles that are easy to fill with the right people
Additionally, Grounded HR is proud to have retained the “good business charter” certification and recently become recognized as a “living wage employer.”
Grounding HR also advocates for flexible work and ensures that your team benefits from the “ultimate flexible movement.” Set your own time and allow them to take vacations without the need for permission. The only provision is that the client's needs are met. This approach brings together skilled professionals in search of a more adaptable work-life balance, and even allowed one team member to work from Australia before returning to the UK.
As grounded HR embarks on the next chapter, the team says it is dedicated to providing excellent HR services while embracing innovation and growth.
Caroline and her team look forward to more successful years.
