A club spokesperson said: “Bradford City AFC can confirm today that a Wyral man has been handed a three-year soccer ban order after posting offensive content online.
“Individuals who committed the attack following the Bantams' 2-0 victory over the Tranmea Rovers in October at Prenton Park are unable to attend football equipment across the UK for three years and must also pay a £365 fine.
“The person was found guilty of posting two messages on social media platform X.” This was described in court as a gross offensive or obscene, indecent or malicious personality.
“The Bradford City AFC welcomes this verdict and thanks Merseyside and West Yorkshire police for their efforts to put individuals on trial.
“The club wants to remind everyone that they have a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of abuse and discrimination, including chanting tragedy and denounce it in the most powerful way possible.”
