War, who had returned home from work at the Allanbrook Barracks before the Horror Crush unfolded, was later accused of causing death by dangerous driving.
Forensic officers were able to prove that Waugh of Redcar's Rowantree Gardens was using his phone by the time the crash occurred.
This includes 10 times locking and unlocking her device, 13 outgoing messages from Facebook Messenger, and 6 outgoing messages from Snapchat.

Overall, there were 34 incoming and outgoing messages during this period.
Importantly, reports of digital evidence showed that the handset was locked at 2:24pm using the on-screen Instagram app.
Today (Friday, February 7th) Wor was jailed for six years and eight months after pleading guilty at Teesside Crown Court.
She also has to undertake an extended driving licence exam after a five-and-a-half year driving ban. These will only be effective when she is released from prison.
“The pain may be dark, but our lives will never be the same again.”
Pauline, the wife of Morris, who had been married to Ian for 50 years, said his loss was huge and “words don't make it justice.”
She said: A milestone event where Ian will not be participating. ”
Pauline said their lives have been “pending” since the day the crash fell, and the “devastating” effect of crash fell never ends.
“For me, he was everything I did — my friend, lover, partner, teammate. It seems he lost half of me that day. He was kind, polite, caring, fun and full of moods. But he was a generous man who loved to plan his surprises.

“He was very proud of his sons Tim and John. He married two amazing girls Becky and Tara who gave them four amazing grandchildren, and loved them so deeply. I was very pleased.”
Pauline, who was preparing to mark the couple's golden wedding anniversary, said she felt like her future had been cancelled.
She added: “On the day of the accident, I chose not to ride my bike and go with him, as I normally do.
“He followed the route we usually took, because the route Ian chose is a straight road with high visibility. The decision not to go is bothering me, if I If he had, would he be with us today?
“It was night in bed and I was back that day and had a hard time figuring out what had happened.
“I never said goodbye and thanked him for all the happy years we spent together. So this impact is a very lonely path for sadness to walk. That's what I learned.
“But in my mind, I know Ian wants me and my family to continue our lives, live them perfectly, and be as happy as possible. This is our goal.”
“He had just been pulled away from all of us.”
Morris' son John described it as “a continuous nightmare that can't wake up.”
He states:
“Of course, what we have to manage now is not only our losses and heartbreak, but also our children, who are dad's grandchildren.
“How can you comfort me with worries about losing memories of my grandfather when my 8-year-old son is crying in bed at night? How do you explain why he got such a short time with him? ?”
John said whatever the sentence was, “it's insignificantly pale compared to the sentences we live every day.”
His other son, Tim, said he feels the loss of his father every day.
He states: I knew I needed to go home.
“The journey was tough, but nothing was realistic until I walked through my parents' front door and looked into my mother's eyes.
“At that point, my world had collapsed.
He continued.
“That day is the most traumatic of my life, so I have to say the whole process. The police contacted us and we had to attend the court first. It gives you more information about how things were going up to the day, and from that day you will regain all your emotions and memories.
“I feel like I'm being fooled for my mom. They both have worked for the same-day municipality. My father had just completed 50 years of service at North Yorkshire County Council and retired. He was just beginning, and there were so many dreams and plans he had.
“They had so many plans to spend their retirement together, but now he hasn't gotten a retirement and my mother hasn't got the retirement she had planned.
“All their efforts and dreams were not their own fault, through reckless acts.
“The last thing that hurts the most is that I couldn't say goodbye to my best friend, my father. He's just torn from all of us.”
Officer Laura Cleary, a major crash investigation team, said:
“The crash witnesses challenged her version of the event, with Morris riding normally, wearing a long-sleeved fluorescent green cycling jersey, and having a red light flashing at the rear of the bike during a crash. He said that.
“They said it was Waugh's car that changed towards Mr Morris.
“Thankfully, Waugh now admits that dangerous driving caused death and is driving while using his phone.
“This is one of the 'fatal five' factors in such a crash, with the others being careless driving, drinks, drug driving, and not wearing seat belts or speeding. .

“In this case, the horrifying consequences of being distracted by a mobile phone are obvious.
“This is a tough wake-up call for anyone who wants to use their phone while controlling the vehicle.
“Our idea remains in Morris' family, left in ruins by this completely avoidable tragedy.”
