A snow and ice yellow weather warning for Yorkshire & Humber was issued and was issued on Saturday, February 15th, 2025 between 06:00 and 14:00 (UTC).
The Met Office warns that snow and ice could lead to some disruption. “Some roads and rail (ARs) are likely to be affected by longer travel times due to road, bus and train services,” according to weather warnings. Perhaps there will be some icy patches on some raw roads, pavements and cycle paths. There is also the possibility that the injury caused him to slip onto the ice surface and collapse.
Rain, sleet and snow may occur early on Saturday before it eases from the west, according to Met Office. Snow is more likely to be east of the Pennine, particularly over 150 meters, where 2-5 cm can accumulate. To lower the level, you may have trouble building up as snow falls, but some locations may be visible up to 2 cm before gradually easing down in the afternoon. Met Office has also identified the risk of ice on pennines, particularly over 200 meters, which allows freezing rain.
The public is urged to plan their routes and allow extra time for the trip. Met Office recommends people “check road closures or delays to public transport and modify plans as needed.”
Drivers are advised to ensure that there are essential items in the vehicle in the event of a delay. Met Office suggests packing warm clothes, food, water, blankets, torches, ice scrapers/daycers, warning triangles, high visibility vests, and phone chargers in your car.
Those who need to travel on foot are advised to use pavement along major roads that are likely to be slippery. Cyclists are advised to stick to the main roads where they are likely to be treated.
Met Office advises people to give themselves the best chance of avoiding delays by checking timetables for driving or buses and trains and modifying their travel plans as needed. Met Office also recommends keeping weather forecasts up to date in your area as weather warnings can change rapidly.
